Imagine waking up at 6am to the thumping sound of bass coming through the wall.
Now imagine it happening again. And again. And again.
That was the reality one apartment tenant said he was facing from his next-door neighbour.
He even offered the neighbour an expensive pair of headphones in a desperate attempt to restore some peace.
But there was a problem – the neighbour wanted to “feel” the music.
Warnings followed, along with a formal 14-day notice to remedy.
Still, the bass reportedly continued, including on the morning of the Tenancy Tribunal hearing.
So, when does loud music cross the line from an annoying neighbour to a breach serious enough for the Tribunal to intervene?
